Tonbridge Lions Club is organising a Community Fête on Sunday September 12th, with the support of Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council.
The Club has been serving Tonbridge for over 70 years, and its principal aim is to provide help or funds for those most in need. It is part of the world`s largest active service organisation, with 1.35 million members, operating in over 200 countries. The members work together to give something back to the Community, helping those less fortunate than themselves.
It has been a very challenging period for everyone over the last eighteen months. During this time, Lions have had to cancel the annual Carnival twice, so they felt it important for the Tonbridge Community to have some fun at last.
The fête will commence at 12 noon on the Castle Lawn, with a variety of entertainment, including dance displays and live music. The 17th Tonbridge Scout and Guide Band will also be performing a marching display with its usual flourish. There will be a Children’s Magician, Kiddies Corner and “Soak your Dad in the Stocks” plus the usual stalls and sideshows.
All proceeds from the fête, will benefit local charities and organisations.
