It is 1941. For many years Dr. Victor Franz has run a clinic caring for children, including those who are physically and mentally handicapped. But then the Nazi regime begins forcing him to send selected children ‘on a river boat ride to see the castles’; a day out that ends with their deaths. ‘All Our Children’ is an eloquent and intelligent essay challenging the Nazi doctrine of ‘lives unworthy of life’. What does it take for humanity and decency to be restored in a world that has abandoned them? A question as relevant today as it ever was.
All Our Children’ had three performances before lockdown forced us to close in March 2020 and we are delighted to be finishing our run with a further five performances. We look forward to the author, Stephen Unwin, joining us on Friday 18th February.
